I Saw Nick Drake: photographs by Keith Morris
If you happen to be a fan of Nick Drake, you probably need to check out I Saw Nick Drake: photographs by Keith Morris, either as an exhibition or the super-sized book you can see here.
Keith Morris’s archive is described as the single most important source of photographs of Nick Drake, with Keith photographing Nick Drake for all three of his albums from April 1969 to November 1971. Keith, like Nick Drake, is no longer with us – but his archive survives intact.
The book I saw Nick Drake: photographs by Keith Morris is a limited edition volume of just 500, individually numbered and in this ultra-large-format, which comes in at 24 inches x 18 inches ( 60 x 45cm) when closed, opening up to a 24 x 36 inch (60 x 90cm) spread size. It is housed in a custom slipcase, lined with black suedel, a felt-like material, which cushions and protects the book.
You can see images from the book in their actual size and a copy of the finished book at Snap Galleries in London, which is hosting an exhibition from this week to 13th October 2012.
Get along if you can. But if you want the book, you can just order that online. But note, it doesn’t come cheap. £395 plus shipping if you want the bottom line.
