Marshall Hanwell – home audio shaped like a classic Marshall amplifier
It looks like an amp and in some ways, it is. But the Marshall Hanwell is the first home audio product to feature the Marshall name. Yes, it’s a home audio system.
It’s a 50th anniversary product – celebrating 50 years since Jim Marshall developed the first Marshall amplifier in his shop in Hanwell, London. Hence the name.
According to the maker, the Hanwell has been designed to recreate the trademark Marshall tone. Its dual long-throw woofers produce ‘super lows’, and hi-fi tweeters offer ‘sharp extended highs’, all from within a wooden cabinet with black vinyl cover, detailed with an analogue power switch and controls for volume, bass and treble. All you need to do is slip in your music player and you’re away.
No news on a price as yet, but with this being both a limited edition and a high-end piece of kit, it’s unlikely to come cheap.
