Stone Roses reforming for some hometown shows
Ian Brown is giving up his part-time job as a curry house critic to get together with his former bandmates for a Stone Roses reformation. So look out for large rooms full of professional wannabe Mancunians in the very near future.
There's a press conference in Tuesday, where chosen journalists (probably that bloke with the weird hair off BBC News, the tabloid entertainment hacks and the NME) will get to hear a 'very important announcement'.
Speculation is that the announcement will be the Stone Roses getting back together for two hometown shows. We're already seeking quotes for large orders of beanie hats, buying up flares and chancing it with a consignment of hoodies from Joe Bloggs. If it doesn't come off, we'll flog 'em outside the next Inspiral Carpets get together.
'I have no desire whatsoever to desecrate the grave of seminal Manchester pop group The Stone Roses'.
That was John Squire, speaking in 2009. Remember that when he's on BBC News next week with a cheery grin.
