New Stereolab album incoming - Not Music
We're huge Stereolab fans, so we are excited to hear that a new album will be here before the year is out, going by the name of Not Music and released on Duophonic UHF Disks on November 16th 2010 as a CD, limited edition vinyl album and download.
Stereolab's 12th album is the follow-up to 2008's Chemical Chords and was actually recorded during the same sessions that produced said album. The recordings began when Tim Gane started messing with 'a series of about seventy tiny drum loops' on top of improvised chord sequences using piano and vibraphone. 'Building them up from there - later slowing the tracks down or speeding them up - a totally new way of doing songs for us...'
Will it tour? Probably not, as the band seem to be on a self-imposed hiatus. But you can hope. Check out over the page for a full tracklisting.
