Wanda Jackson teams up with Jack White for new LP
The girl with the nasty voice, Wanda Jackson, is getting together with the boy with the nasty guitar, Jack White (of The White Stripes etc etc) to record a new long player.
The Queen of Rockabilly is going to record in Nashville with White. "He's one of the biggest stars on the planet right now," Jackson told the Oklahoman. Apparently, White was asked to write one song for Wanda, but he got the bug and demanded the whole damn LP!
Of course, White worked with country singer Loretta Lynn on the 2004 cut 'Van Lear Rose'. However, something tells me (or at least, hopes) that White's gonna get Jackson to delve the weird black magick groove of 'Funnel of Love'.
Wanda ain't no stranger to this shit though. Recent album, 2003's 'Heart Trouble' featured Elvis Costello and the Cramps. Rolling Stone said she's "one of the coolest women in rock history" Can't argue with that! Here's hoping for vintage Wanda plus fuzz!

Jack White has played a big role in shaping Indie and Rock music over the last decade. Check out the progression here http://bit.ly/7e2SfY some other really great bands are featured.
