The Lean and Hungry Type... Hall and Oates get into the sue
Last night, I was playing on my guitar (proving that, indeed, pretty much every rock critic is a failed musician) and I suddenly broke into "Whoa here's she comes, watch out boy she'll chew you up..."
Hall & Oates are suing their music publisher after they say their song ‘Maneater’ was used without their permission, and that the publisher refused to protect their publishing agreement.
The suit, filed in Manhattan, says that an unidentified singer-songwriter used the song in 2006, and when they asked their publisher Warner/Chappell to sue for copyright infringement, the company refused. Now the duo are seeking damages from Warner/Chappell and want to end their contract with the company, according to the Associated Press.
Whilst singing 'Maneater', my girlfriend starting singing 'Part Time Lover' by Stevie Wonder over the top... thus begging the question: I wonder if Stevie Wonder has ever fancied suing Hall and Oates?

Considering the release of Maneater (1982) pre-dates that of Part-Time Lover (1985) by about three years, I think Stevie would be wasting his time, dude! Perhaps it should be Hall & Oates to consider a lawsuit ... although if they haven't already filed one at some point over the past 24 years, I doubt they would bother now.
