Jurassic 5 go deluxe on the debut
This kinda news annoys me. I mean, you go buy an LP when it's new and then, years later, it comes out again with the extras and you wanna hear 'em... but y'know, you've already got the best of the deal. However, for some reason, I'll let Jurassic 5 off, because their debut cut is jus' too good. It's an unofficial D.A.I.S.Y.A.G.E.R.
Y'see, Jurassic 5 are set to reissue their '97 eponymous LP (is it really that long ago?) armed with a load of extras. The new issue of ‘J5 Deluxe Re-issue’ will feature the original cuts with a bonus disc with 15 rare songs and a DVD with never before seen footage of the band’s first-ever world tour... which I went to, and it was stupidly fun!
The DVD segment features ‘The Jurassic Period’ documentary directed by Jason Goldwatch, and is accompanied by a 30-minute live performance ‘Jurassic 5 at Brixton Academy’ as well as the ‘Concrete Schoolyard’ music video. Apparently, this LP has been out of print since 2004 due to contractual disputes, and will be released November 11 via Decon. All of you who have been trying to get your hands on it step right up because, if you like De La Soul (I know it's a lazy comparison), you'll seriously dig this. Here's the aforementioned 'Concrete Schoolyard' for your delication. Grade A Children's Television Work-Hop.

A worthy re-issue for a true modern classic.
