Karen O and the tale of Native Korean Rock

Kareno Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ain't content with being in one of the best NY bands in years, and subsequently becoming the focus for just about every teen boy's ham fisting in the boudoir... so she's goin' Native Korean Rock. Yessir. Now, 'fore you start gettin' too giddy and jumpin' upanddown at the thought of a 2xLP filled with obscure '60s Korean punk, lemme tellyer that this is a new band/project titled Native Korean Rock.

"Native Korean Rock is a side project of mine comprised of a body of love songs written over the last two years, to be performed with a motley crew of NYC natives. Expect high drama, high stakes in two intimate performances," she said in a posting on the Yeah Yeah Yeahs web site blog. This has nothing to do with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs it seems. Rather than being ponk-pop, it's smacked out biscuit tin acoustics... which you can hear here.
