Manchester's finest recreate The Band's Last Waltz

This is a great idea for a gig. Basically, a group of musicians from Manchester (Manchester's finest some might argue) have teamed up to recreate and pay tribute to the legendary gig, The Last Waltz, by The Band (and friends).

In the line-up, we have John Ellis starring as Dr John, Liz Green as Muddy Waters, The Travelling Band starring as The Band, Aidan Smith as Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Ten Bears of The Deadbeats as Bobby Dylan, Isobel Heyworth as Joni Mitchell, Gladeyes as Ronnie Hawkins and Pete Roe as Neil Young.

The event is Sunday 8th June with doors opening at 4.30pm. Where? It's at the Martin Harris Centre (M13 9PL, near the Royal Northern) and is £12.50 advance, £15 on the door. Tickets available from www.quaytickets.com
