Website: France YeYe
France has often been unfairly dubbed as a music vacuum. Those with open ears and minds know that, probably more than any other non-English speaking European country, the French have got it right. So with that, it's worth pointing you in the direction of a cool-ass Ye-Ye site.
France YeYe is filled with great French pop videos, shots of French pop stars and... probably one of my favourite oddities... paper dolls of French popstars that you can cut-out 'n' keep. Look to the right and you'll see one of French vixen Françoise Hardy taken from a Swedish magazine. Why don't the rags have things like that in anymore?
If you want some brooding, sweet/sad YeYe, then click here to see the wonderful Patricia Carli heartbreaking her way through 'Demian tu te Maries'.
France YeYe is part unadulterated love for French sixties pop, part wry glance and part kitsch... but don't hold the latter against them, it's all part and parcel of digging the scene. Now, click here to visit the site... there's some nice Dutronc videos awaiting you.
