Will Sunny Day Sets Fire kickstart a 60s psych pop revival?

Sunnyday

If we receive a press release here at Electric Roulette, we always reach for the sack of salt next to desk, just so we can take a large pinch of the stuff whilst reading it. Best claim of the day so far is from the PR company behind Sunny Day Sets Fire, claiming the band are are set to 'kickstart the 60s psych pop revival'. Will they? Of course not. Are the band any good? Well, actually they are.

In fact, the PR's claim isn't a million miles from the truth - they do play a tasty brand of 60s-style psych pop at times (judging by the band's mySpace selection), but it's unlikely to get the kids wearing flowers in their hair. In fact, it's more like old-style quirky indie pop than 60s revival - no bad thing in my book.

This multinational band (five members from four countries) already have a couple of singles on the market, with an album due in April. If you can't wait that long, you can catch them at London's Luminaire on 3rd March. Or you can just follow the link below to listen to some tunes.
