Leonard Cohen to tour Europe?
I've not heard about Leonard Cohen for ages. What's he doin' these days? Kung-fu? Lookin' like that guy from Dempsey and Makepeace? Well, if rumours are to be buhlieved, then right now, he's gearing up for a world tour.
A posting on Leonardcohenforum.com reads: “The following advance notice is posted with Leonard's permission. Leonard Cohen will be touring with his band in Canada and US in May and in Europe in the summer. More details will be announced in February.”
...this would be the first time in nigh on fifteen years that ol' grubby coat will wheel out his hang-dog face and murmurs. Lenny! You can't smoke on stage now! Sorry buddy. Well, it seems unlikely that you're the first. I doubt I was first but I seem to have preceded you by six months or so. This excerpt is from my own post, Leonard Cohen BBC Interview: “I’d like to go out [on tour] again” (See URL at end of comment): "In a 13 July 2007 interview on the BBC program, Front Row, Leonard Cohen discusses, among other issues, his interest in a concert tour, prompted in part by the fiscal crisis caused by the theft of his funds by his former manager."
I admittedly don't know much about the music business. Do all those other singers and bands put on concerts "purely out of love for [their] fans?" I had the wacky notion that those triple digit ticket prices were intended to generate a profit.
